Morning sunshine…errrr brisk cold wind! Actually, I’m enjoying the cool air with all the heaters pumping out the heat! Feel like I’m going through menopause! Just kidding!
So, I’ve decided to post on what I’m putting in my mouth while I’m here in Las Vegas. Why? Because everybody speaks about the challenges of eating well on the road. It can be done! Sure, you may be eating burgers, tacos, and hot dogs, but what are you pairing with these foods? This is where it matters!
Yesterday we were confined to the NRS World area; thus, had to eat what they offered…burgers or hot dogs…yep, that is all. So, I loaded up on the vegetable toppings and drank a ton of water (yep, a ton!) It’s dry out here, so it’s key to stay hydrated and I am pumping water! Knowing that this was CLEARLY not enough to sustain me we headed to the grocery store to pick up more food for our room and to lessen our costs. On a budget? Eat like me! ;o)
I picked up the following:
- Tuna packets
- Salad (the green stuff, not the white stuff)
- Olive oil and vinegar dressing
- Green beans (fresh, the kind you can toss in the microwave)
- Peanut butter
- Whole wheat bread
- Naked Juice Protein Drinks
- Sparkling water
- Apples
- Chobani yogurt
- Dark chocolate
- Cheddar cheese
- Pears
- Healthy Request Soups
- Wheat Thins Flatbread crackers
- Stout beer
- Grilled cheese sandwiches
- Peanut butter toast or sandwiches
- Salads with green beans and tuna
- Soup
- Cheese and crackers to snack
- Apple or pear with peanut butter
